One of the distinguishing features of Begur is its nine calas or small beaches, each completely unique: to the north, near Pals, there are three: Platja del Racó, Illa Roja, and Sa Riera. Further south, Aiguafreda and Sa Tuna S'Eixugador. To the south are the remaining three: Platja Fonda, Cala Fornells, and Aiguablava.

The gastronomy of Begur, located on the beautiful Costa Brava, is a delight for lovers of Mediterranean cuisine. This charming fishing village takes pride in its local cuisine, characterized by fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. Try the seafood paella or salt-baked fish, tapas, and wine.

Several medieval and charming villages dot this region. We suggest taking a stroll through the center of Begur to explore its weekly market and beautiful shops. For the more adventurous, a visit to the ruins of the Castle is worthwhile. Calella de Palafrugell stands out for its white houses contrasting with the blue of the sea. If you head in this direction, be sure to visit the San Sebastián Lighthouse. Peratallada is my favorite village for an afternoon walk, enjoying an ice cream, and admiring its stone streets often covered with vegetation and flowers

Sea lovers! In the summer, Begur transforms into an amusement park. Around Cap Sa Sal is the Ses Negres maritime park, so snorkeling is as simple as stepping into the sea. During July and August, paddleboards are usually available for rent for those interested. The calm sea beckons. Scuba diving can be done from Sa Riera or L'Estartit.
In Aiguafreda, boats are available for daily rental to explore the calas.

El Camino de Ronda is a path made of rocks right next to the sea that runs along much of the Costa Brava coastline. The views are breathtaking! You can walk from Cap Sa Sal to S'Eixugador, passing through Sa Tuna along this path. The stretch between Sa Riera and Playa Roja is very scenic. Empordà is a region for cycling enthusiasts, with the Via Verde for beginners and dozens of routes for the more demanding. The region also features 2 golf courses and a very enjoyable Pitch & Putt.
